Eva K. Bowlby Library Circulation Department

The Circulation Department of Bowlby Library is responsible for checking
items in and out of the Library. They will also provide Greene County
residents with a library card, free of charge, upon proof of residency.

Circulation Policies

  • Most materials circulate two weeks: books and vertical files, books-on-
    tape and books-on-CD.

  • Videos, cassettes, AV equipment, records, kits, periodicals and slides
    circulate for one week.

  • Most materials are renewable one time, as long as they are not on hold
for another person. Renewals must be made in person, no renewals
    are accepted over the phone.

  • Videos, cassettes, and books-on-tape/books-on-CD are limited to four
total. Patrons must be over 16 to borrow these types of items.

  • During a two week period, only 10 items may be checked out to any one
person. *This includes a total of 4 Media items (DVDs, CD Audiobooks, and
VHS tapes). All material must be returned by the due date. Patrons are
responsible for lost or damaged items and for any fines. Abuse of materials
and library policies will result in loss of library privelages.

    Lost or Damaged Materials

If you should lose or damage any books, cassettes, videos, etc, you will be
charged the cost of the item plus a $2.00 processing fee. Damaged material
fees will be determined by the Library.

    InterLibrary Loans (ILL)

The Interlibrary Loan System is a service to the patrons, provided by Eva K.
Bowlby Public Library. Should the Library not own a copy of a book that the
patron wishes to read, Bowlby Library will then request the copy from
another library. Once the book is received, patrons must sign an Interlibrary
Loan Contract, which binds them to upholding the borrowing policies of this
Library as well as the lending library. Most interlibrary loan materials may
not be renewed. ILL Materials must be returned by the due date. We do not
place interlibrary loan requests for videos, books-on-tape, DVDs, ASVAB or
    NEXUS workbooks.
