On Saturday, July 5, 2008, transportation and admission for elementary-aged children will be provided to Little Lake Theater where we will enjoy a production of “Granny Apple-Butter and the Ding Dong Wolf.” ************ On Saturday, July 26, 2008, middle and high school students will travel to Meadowcroft Village and participate in hands-on history programs. The book fair will be at the Library from July 14 - 26, 2008.
 So pack your bags! It’s time to “Take a Reading Road Trip” across the nation, where you’ll find carloads of books for every kind of traveler! Please stop in and take a “Reading Road Trip” with us! Proceeds from the sale will purchase new books for the Children’s Department! Contact the Library at 724-627-9776 for more info. ************************************************* The Bowlby Public Library will present a speaker on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM Pennsylvania Mountain Voices is a presentation given by Bruce Young, funded by the Pennsylvania Humanities Council. It seeks to evoke through song and music the lives and times of people living and working in nineteenth century Pennsylvania. Banjo, fiddle, guitar and dulcimer music will accompany the songs, most of which have choruses and are meant to be sung by a group of people. The program has particular emphasis on songs of Central Pennsylvania mining and lumber camps. The music and songs come form a time and place in history that provides a lively window to view the people who wrote them.
