Summer Reading 2008: “Catch the Reading Bug!”
Everyone ages 0-99 is welcome to join us for games, crafts, and snacks regardless of whether you are joining our Summer Reading program. “Catch the Reading Bug” is the theme for this year at the Bowlby Public Library. Enrolling your child means they’ll get to take part in lots of fun activities --- including some creepy, crawly ones --- and they’ll maintain or improve their reading skills while school’s not in session.
Kerry McClure, our Children’s Librarian said, “Taking part in a summer reading program allows children to continue learning in a way that’s enjoyable to them. Certainly it’s their chance to take a break from doing work that is directed by other people. It’s summer vacation, but you don’t want them to be directionless. You want to offer them opportunities to choose, to keep reading, to keep exploring and learning in a way that is self-directed.”
To register for Summer Reading 2008, Catch the Reading Bug!, please call the Bowlby Library at 724-627-9776.
